/etc/group,/etc/gshadow释疑

你知道/etc/group的第二项是什么意思吗？这项中!和x分别代表什么意思呢？
之前我还真的没有注意到这个问题。于是先man group了一把，给出了的说明是

password the (encrypted) group password. If this field is empty, no password is needed.
